Is there any safe way to blow dry or flat iron your hair?

I use heat protecting spray, but I think it's just a gimmick. Anyone know of stuff that actually does protect your hair, or a safe blowdryer or flat iron? My hair is very fine, but healthy at the moment... and I want to keep it that way.

My hair is the same as yours and I also use a flat iron.

The best advice is to make sure you NEVER use a flat iron on wet hair. Any hair stylist will tell you this! Make sure your hair is completely dry before using a hot iron on it or it can scorch your hair.

Try to keep the iron on the lowest setting at first and see if that does the job on your hair. Fine hair usually works with the lowest setting and any higher heat can damage fine strands.

I use heat protection spray all over my head before I blow dry, or even if I air dry if I know I will hot iron later on. Anything will silk or protein in it seems to work fantastic on my fine hair. I have used expensive salon brands, and also Suave and all do about the same.

My FAVORITE product is called Silk by Farouk (sp??) but Silk looks like a small bottle of baby oil. You put some drops in your hands and rub your hands together, and then rub all through your hair. I SWEAR by this product for fine hair and for heat styling. It also keeps my hair from tangling in the iron, and from tangling all day. Totally worth the splurge!

Well first of all imfusion 23 leave in conditioner works great for me when i straighten my hair. After i shower i work it through my hair while its still damp then i blowdry. then i apply some more before and after i straighten. it's also chemically proven that if you wet your brush and run it through your hair after you straighten/blowdry it, it will help restore moisture and cut down on frizz! hope this helps!

You should use a wet-to-straight straightener.They work really good, and there's like no damage.And don't let the stean scare ya, it's steaming the water out of your hair.It really helps with frizz and previous damage, too.

its not a gimmick if you use a good one like the thermal one from Joico use it on dry hair though so thats what u need to remember flat iron dry hair only
