Consider a possible medical cause for your problem as well, such as hypothyroidism. Dry, brittle, easily broken or split hair can be a symptom, seemingly unrelated to many others. I would check on that.

Two other things to try: Biotin--I think it's from GNC stores. I know people who swear by this but I've never spent the money on it.

Also, try coloring your hair with henna and/or indigo. A great site for this and the benefits of doing hair color this way is www.hennaforhair.com. It might take a couple of applications, but the low toxicity and fantastic long-lasting results make it worth the trouble.

I use Pantene myself, but I also have hypothyroidism that is now treated and I use henna. Never tried Boitin, but I get raves all the time.

Good luck.

SunSilk they have a whole line of hair products for every type of hair. and it's easy, u just find ur hairtype which would be represented with a color, like purple bottles are 4 straight hair. then just look for ur color for what u need.

TRESemme if your hair is colored, and curlsrock conditioner.

The Phyto line is great...I like Nexxus too. If you really want to repair your hair, you may want to truly avoid heat styling for awhile, air dry, with a leave-in weightless conditioner, or wear it up! Also, don't wash your hair every day. Brush it a lot with a GOOD BRUSH to bring the oils in to the hair shaft and take hair and skin vitamins. Remember that the quality of your hair is often a reflecftion of the quality of the nutrients you ingest. You can also find a good spray-in conditioner with an SPF formula to prevent frying.

DON"T USE PANTENE! Go to a salon to buy your shampoo/conditioner. It'll cost, but its worth it. Hair products you buy at the store suck. They are full of chemicals and weird stuff like the shells of beetles crushed up to coat the hair with a shiny crap that just sits on your hair, and dries it out further! It may look good at first, but it'll make your fine hair split and look worse in a month. Guaranteed.
