My husband uses a special hair mask instead a of drying gel. It looks just like a gel on your hair, but it wont dry , just use only little bit at a time.It's called OJON HAIR. It's meant to be a hair mask , but it works wonderfully instead of gel. You can buy it at Sephora, It's bit expansive but it will last you for months, maybe a year depends on your hair. Trust me, I use it too. We both love it.
